Project ARISE’s mission to preserve biodiversity started with invasive species — ARISE is an acronym for “AI-Assisted Removal of Invasive Species for Environmental Restoration!”
Globally, invasive species are a factor in over 33% of animal extinctions and over 25% of plant extinctions. Their damage doesn’t stop there — they spark a domino effect within our ecosystem’s food chains, and they pose a larger threat to urban function than most realize. Invasive plants jeopardize agricultural outputs, degrade water quality, and significantly increase the risk of wildfires worldwide.
Each year, invasive species cost the United States $120 billion in taxes and damages, and invasive species are almost always introduced to ecosystems through human activity.
ARISE started with combatting invasive species, and now we’re fighting to protect biodiversity globally.

What We Do
With chapters across the world, we engage thousands in spreading awareness about biodiversity decline and working together to stop it.
Volunteer opportunities:
We organize community service events to restore native habitats, remove invasive species, and heal our ecosystems.
We also host educational workshops and speak at outreach events to inform the public about why biodiversity is important to us all and how people can help.
An AI mobile app:
We’re designing an innovative AI mobile app that recognizes and classifies the most invasive plant species! Ultimately, our goal is to break down the knowledge barrier surrounding invasive plant removal — to make biodiversity restoration more accessible.
